DDP Yoga and why I started my journey into it. BANG!

DDP Yoga LogoThis post is written as a break off from my previous post about Tanya and Uliana being in Belarus. I wanted to separate the DDP stuff into another post, tablets so here we go:

First let me tell what DDP yoga is:

About DDP Yoga

DDP Yoga came into being after DDP , nurse the professional wrestler named Diamond Dallas Page, buy more about  messed up his body while wrestling. The doctors told him he would never wrestle again. He was desperate and would try anything to get back into the ring. His wife was doing yoga at the time and recommended that he give that a try. He was desperate so he tried it, and within 3 weeks he was back to training for wrestling  With his seemingly miraculous return to wresting he worked with a chiropractor who specializes sports extremity medicine affectionately named the ‘Yoga Doc’ , who is also a Power Yoga instructor, to create a workout that integrates Power Yoga, rehabilitation techniques, and dynamic tension to create low impact yoga based workout that delivers cardio and strength training too. He has championed it among his wrestling buddies and many are doing DDP Yoga as a part of their training regiment.

“It ain’t your mamma’s yoga!!”

How It Started

So, why did I start looking into DDP yoga?  Well, it all started when a rep from the Madison Mallards called me to let me know that DDP was going to be at a Mallards game some time in June and will be teaching a class after the game. He wanted to see if our studio wanted to arrange for a group outing for the game and DDP’s class. This, of course, had me thinking DDP?  Yoga?? What the hell is going on here? I spent some time researching it and it looked legit.

In doing some research on this I found  the inspirational story of Arthur Boorman‘s transformation using DDP Yoga, which was amazing. Eventually I bought his book Yoga for Regular Guys (YRG). After reading the YRG book I took a better look at DDPYoga.com and I really liked what I saw. Last Thursday I made the jump by purchasing the Max Combo pack, and then the fun began.

Why I made the Jump

As most of you know, my wife and I have a yoga studio, and she teaches there as the primary instructor teaching about 13 classes per week. I have been taking Yoga with her on and off, depending on babysitting, for about 3 years or so, which has been great for my back and neck. I will also say the Tanya is an awesome instructor.

I have wanted to become a yoga teacher for a few years now, but this is difficult because of babysitting, time (~1 month) and money (~$3,500). The 2 paths I have considered are Power Yoga and Yoga Therapist. I first considered Power Yoga since that would appeal to guys more and it is a great workout for muscle building and weight loss. I definitely need a little bit of both of those, but the possible intensity of workouts sorta scared me. =O I found a more important Yoga focus, since in the last year or so I have been battling with RSI (repetitive strain injury), which is the precursor for carpal tunnel syndrome, and it came to the point where I was concerned about having to quit my job. I decided that if I were to get certified I would pick a therapeutic focus and I found that Yoga Therapy was a possibility, more specifically I found out about the Integrative Yoga Therapist certification which also includes diet and Ayurveda too. I am a strong proponent of ‘fix your freaking diet’ as my friends and family well know. Again, this also takes time and money which we do not have at this time.

Now, DDP Yoga is a nice mixture of both Power Yoga and Yoga for a therapeutic end, and they also recommend good dietary changes too. They recently released the first part of  a certification path which only costs $500 and you can do it at home. If I am able to survive DDP Yoga and benefit from it, especially at the upper levels, I may look into getting certified and then I may run classes in the morning as a sort of a boot camp, but that is in the future and assumes much. We shall see if that shall come to pass.

The First Three Weeks Since Tanya and Uliana are in Belarus

I am writing this post during my fourth week alone, drugs and my first week back to work, so this will be all from memory, and not completely correct, but it will be close enough for government work. I was planning on doing a week by week post, since I expected to be really busy, but that sorta did not happen. My time was pretty much was laced with laziness.

The First Night

The very moment I finished work @ 4:30pm the day after I dropped Tanya and Uliana off  (Tuesday) was strange. I was free with nothing to that I had do, no child to babysit, no yoga class to take, no plans at all, just the emptiness of the night with nothing at all on the agenda, and no one calling for my attention. It was really strange. It has been a long time since I have had moments like that, especially for such a long stretch. Having a child changes things a little bit. =) It felt kind like getting out of basic training in the Navy for the first time, going from where your every minute is scheduled and demands are made of your time and attention, and then nothing. My mind really had no clue what the hell I should be doing. It was expecting to be expecting to be expected to have something to do. Twas strange for me to process. I slowly walked home from work taking my time thinking about all of the things I could do, and then I just went home to prepare for the coming time alone. The first night sleeping alone was a little strange too. I am sorta used to having Tanya there, and not having her there made it hard to sleep. =) =( I miss my Ribchik!!

Week One

The first week  I spent some time cooking, shopping, and doing laundry, as well as doing just a little bit of yoga in the evenings, not so much though. I joined the free trial of Redbox and started to watch some movies, as well as watched some shows of mine that were DVR’ed. I did not really do any reading, sadly enough. This first week had me staying up late, like until 11:00 to 12:00am. Much later than I like. On Wednesday I went down to the game shop to chill with the guys. There is usually a Bolt Action Game going on. Bolt Action is a World War II minis game. I think I also went down on Saturday too to check out the gaming goodness.

Weeks Two and Three (Vacation)

Things pick up a bit during these two weeks in which I was on vacation, and I did not accomplish everything that I was hoping to. Things were more laid back than I was planning. The complete lack of routine totally threw me for a loop. I work much better when I have a rigid routine in place and then I can fit things in as needed.

These first weeks of vacation had me staying up late, like until 12:00am to 1:00am in the morning watching movies on Redbox. I usually woke up late which is like 9:00am or so. I would get up, drink my honey-lemon-cinnamon water, take care of email and Facebook, do my yoga, and then shower. I would finish all of this around 12:00 to 1:00pm, and then I would eat breakfast which would usually start with a protein bar. Once all of that was done I would get on with my day.

Reading Books

I was originally planning on reading my Constitution Law book which I bought for my birthday in 2009 and spent a week of vacation reading it. During that week I read ~583 pages. If you get really bored you can read about that in those posts tagged Constitutional Law: Pricipals and Policies. However, since I really wanted to start at the beginning to read the 1300 pages straight through, preferably in a week, but most likely 2, I chickened out. Before your judgemental bastards judge me keep in mind that this is not like 1300 pages of Lord of the Rings, novel sized pages. These are 1300 pages of college text book sized dense law reading. =P

Below are the few things that I read instead:

First, I finished reading the the following 2 books which were already about 60% read:

God and the Gay Christian: This was perhaps the best book I have read on this topic. I have read a few and this is the first one that was really convincing and really gets it right. This is perhaps one of the most important books of the year.

Mary Magdalene: This is the second book on this topic that I have read and I really enjoyed it. Well researched and it really brought me a better understanding of the ways that Mary was and is understood and what it really means today. Good stuff.

Then I moved on to reading new books. You will notice a sort of a trend in the topics here:

Yoga for Regular Guys (YRG): I had picked this up the previous week and had taken a look at it. This week I spent some time going through the yoga routine in there. I recognized pretty much all of the poses in it so there were no surprises there. The forward for the book was written by Rob Zombie which was neat to see. The book was written in a laid back style for men, a bit sexist, but meant in fun, sorta like a professional wrestler wrote it. =O

So You Want to Open a Yoga Studio: This was a small but awesome book. It covered how and why to open up a studio plus what to look for in a space and so much more. If I were looking into opening up a new studio, this book would be a really great place to start.

Light on Law for Yoga Studios: This was written by the guy who is the legal counsel for Yoga Journal, I think. He is also a lawyer and a yoga teacher too, so this book is chocked full of great advice, thoughts, and actual legal forms you  can use to create your own forms. I will have to take a look at my own studio forms and change things around with the info from this book. I wish I had this when we started our studio and I put together our forms and waivers.

The Yogi Entrepreneur: This was a great book on running a studio from everything from choosing a teacher training program, finding work to social media management. A lot of great advice in there.

Yoga

I did yoga almost everyday. My sessions were anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 minutes, though I tended to average about 30 minutes. Loving it.

Gaming

I had Charles over and we played some of the following games which are featured on Will Wheaton’s Table Top series:

I also made it over to the game shop and played some:

I will send a shout out to Brian, who has always been kind to me. He has always played mini based games and he always had an army for me (and others) to play. He bought a Russian army for me and I was able to play it for the first time the last Saturday of vacation. He also has plenty of ships to go around for me to play Star Wars:X-Wing too… go Imperials!!

Strangely enough, especially since I am tactically challenged, I won most of the games. Perhaps their is something magical about vacations? Hmmm…. =)

We also had our bi-weekly Star Wars: Edge of Empire Role Playing Game game too, which went well, and Brian also GM’s that and has been our dedicated and tireless GM for 15 years. You go dude! … and thanks!!

Week Four – At Work

With the start of a new week and starting work, I did some cooking and laundry too. It was not too bad getting back to work since I stopped in on both Sundays to clean out my mailbox and see if anything needed to be done.

DDP Yoga

So, I purchased the DVD Max Pack for DDP Yoga and started it Thursday of last week and have done it everyday so far, except for Sunday. It is pretty intense, and I am definitely sweating when I am done. I am looking forward to continuing this practice to help lean me up and lose some weight.  Now that I am back to work I am getting up at 6:00am so I can get my Yoga in before I go to work which will also charge up my metabolism too. It is going pretty well so far and I am going to bed at around 10:00pm too, which is right about where I want to. It is only 2 days in, but things are going well. For more info on DDP Yoga and why I choose it see my next post.

Tonight I will go to Marley’s and then go to see Godzilla.

Next week I pick up Tanya and Uliana on Friday night, and then, thankfully, everything will be back to normal.

I think I have rambled enough for one post.

Updates – New House, New Studio, and a Crawling Kid…

Someone asked what I am up to on Facebook – Hi Matt! – and I have not written much in quite a while about what is happening in my life so here’s a little catch up for everyone. I am sure that there is more than this, pills but this is all that I can remember for now.

Uliana

We will be celebrating her 1st birthday here in a little bit. She is a good little girl and officially started to crawl on Fathers Day! =) This is of course a mixed blessing. It is great that she is crawling, symptoms but that now means she has another method to find stuff to put in her mouth. =O

New House in Baraboo

We bought a second house in Baraboo which is twice the size (1300 sq ft) of our first house (700 sq ft). We closed on it on May 21, food and finished moving in on Friday and Saturday – June 18th and 19th. Two days ago we finally got Charter installed so now I have internet! Yea! I have moved up from a 768/128 DSL up to 8 meg Cable. Happy Days! =) Our first, fortunately, shall be rented by Tanya’s brother and his wife.

Baby sitters: We are looking for a few baby sitters in Baraboo that either occasional or fairly steady as options. We are set for now, but are looking for more baby sitting options.

New Yoga Studio

New Classes and New Studio: Tanya (and a few others) will be teaching Yoga out of our new house. We have a grand opening on Saturday, June 26 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, with classes starting there on July 1. Classes will be free to all through the entire month of July, so come and bring your friends and family and give it a try. We have 18 classes scheduled for every one young and old. We have some children’s classes, beginners, intermediate, and advanced classes, as well as relaxation classes.

You can check our website for our new schedule and  more information. We also have an article about us and the new studio opening in the Baraboo News Republic too. We were quite nervous for this interview.

Candles: We are looking for any spare candles that you may have for some of our studio classes. Feel free to drop them by or let us know so we can pick them up.

Looking for a Part-Time Certified Yoga Teacher for our Baraboo Classes

We are looking for a Certified Yoga Teacher to teach Tanya’s Baraboo classes for 2-4 months starting May – June’ish as she prepares to give birth to our daughter.

If you know of someone who may be interested and potentially qualified, treat please let us know, visit this site or feel free send then over to us. We are also looking for a teacher who might consider a longer term position with us, pathopsychology as well, as we look to expand.

We currently have classes on Monday and Wednesday nights as well as Saturday morning. Check out our full class schedule for more info. If you have any questions or suggestions please let us know

It’s All About You’s website is basically done..

I finished It’s All About You’s site for our Yoga Studio to-be. It took me one day to put the basic site together. A second day was used to tweak and play with the navigation. The third day was used to get some of the content out there.

There is still some work that needs to be done. It is definitely not perfect, medicine but it is working and it doesn’t look too bad. If you note any issues with it, dosage or if you have questions, comments or suggestions please let me know. This is my first real production site.

I should note, rather importantly, that the design is not of my own. Michael Lopresti of Lopresti Designs came up with the design and I coded it. He is working on porting it to the WordPress or Drupal CMS

Thoughts for the Obama Administration

What follows is the vision that I sent to the Obama administration via the ‘Share your Vision’ portion of his Change.gov site.. I have slightly modified it for spelling and grammar correction, viagra 60mg and have added a few things after-the-fact.

A Little About Me

To put this all in a little perspective I will describe myself and my life – I am a Unitarian Unversalist Centrist. I have married a beautiful Belarussian woman and we have recently found out that she is pregnant. Yea! I am 35 years old and I served in the US Navy as a Reactor Operator on board the USS Enterprise during Desert Storm. I graduated college with a BS in Computer Information Systems and an AS in Computer Networking Technologies. I am currently working for a small county government as their primary web developer; my wife and I are trying to start a Yoga Studio; and I also kind of working as a part time licensed assistant for a local real estate broker. I have traveled to several countries in Europe on vacations as well as throughout the US too.

My Visions For The US and the Future

I know most of this will get ignored and/or laughed at but here goes: =)

CALENDAR REFORM: The International Fixed Calendar (IFC) is one of the greatest inventions that has not come to pass. =( The IFC is a 13 month 28 day calendar with 1 (Year Day) or 2 (Leap Day) intercalary days. It almost passed during the UN’s calendar reform movement in what I think was the 1950’s. What stopped it was protests by Seven Day Adventists and Sabbatarians. There are a great amount of benefits to the IFC for companies and for individuals. Those mobile holidays such as Easter and Thanks giving will be fixed. Trend analysis and project planning will be easier since the days per month and days for all holidays will be exactly the same each year. Budget planning and payroll will be easier with fixed days per month and we will see an increase in monetary turn over per year since we will have 13 months instead of 12 months per year. These are but just a few examples. For more information see Calendar Reform: The International Fixed Calendar: Part Deux.

ELECTORAL COLLEGE ABOLISHMENT: For the love of all that is holy, sildenafil haven’t we had enough of this nonsense. When a president can win the majority of popular vote and still lose the election, I think we have a problem.

ESPERANTO is recognized by Google and by UNESCO as a modern usable language. I would very much like to see this language taught in schools as a primary secondary-language – the unifying language that can bring the world together. Studies have been shown the those who learn Esperanto, due to its unique construction have an easier time learning and understand other foreign languages. It is also the only real hope for a primary diplomatic or business language for the world since it has no cultural or national heritage. Esperanto can also be used as the primary second-language that most things are translated into everything from websites, government documents, public terminals and signs, DVD and TV subtitles, and merchandises user manuals saving them a lot of money. This will also bring the world together and give us a common language with which to share and understand each other with which will also make the world a much smaller place. Traveling to other countries will be easier and less scary as well as allowing people to by pass language barriers to learn about other cultures more easily. For more information you can see .Esperanto‘.

FLAT TAX: Now is the time to enact a flat tax system. The 20% tax for everyone and then perhaps give congress a +/- 3% leeway to play with tax breaks and penalties. This will greatly simplify the tax code as well as increasing the taxes for the rich and decreasing it for everyone else giving us an overall net gain in taxes.

GAY AND POLY RIGHTS need to be granted. These are both civil rights issues secular issues, and, as far as the government is concerned, it is not religious issue, and this need to come to pass. Same Sex Marriages (SSM) and Polyamorous/Polygamous Marriages (PPM) (in general) are made with the same commitment and therefore should have the same rights as everyone else. Those who argue from the stand point of Christian fundamentalism need to stop it as this is not a religious issue. This is a secular issue. So many people see them as one and the same and they are not which is a large part of our culture and government’s problems. SSM and P/PM are civil rights violations that need to be corrected. Consenting adults (and I do stress consenting adults) can and will form whatever relationship structures they will and outlawing them has proven to unconstitutional; and/or difficult to enforce and/or not enforced. Examples of such are sodomy laws and interracial marriage. I am more or less speaking about P/PM from the specific standpoint of Polyamory. Our mainstream Polygamy examples that come from Muslim and Mormon faiths are not so pretty and the primary problem with both of them are that both (sub-)cultures are inherently oppressive to women. Polygamy in and of itself is not. Cultural specific implementations of polygamy (plural marriage) are not the end all and be all of what Polygamy is and can be. If you search within the polyamory community you will see something quite different that what Islam and Mormons show. As far as I have seen US Immigration laws allow, at least in some fashion, polygamous marriages from India, and this in any form, is discrimination. When it comes to marrying a cheese burger, a muscle car, or a horse – show me one of these whose signature or very presence can be considered and adult or able to sign a civil contract since that is what marriage is from the standpoint of the government.

HEALTHCARE SOCIALIZATION: I am basically for the socialization of health care in the US, but we need to be careful and study those who have traveled this road before us. There are countries that are doing this well and there are those that are not doing it well. This needs to be studied extensively. The US market is very much different then all other markets in the world and this needs to be accounted for. We need to keep the same or better quality of care and availability for all people or this will be a failure. Something that may need to be addressed is doctor’s and insurance which is one of the largest costs for doctors today in our extremely litigious society. Perhaps impose a much lower monetary cap for rewards on malpractice suits. We also need to greatly invest in new technology for online health records as well as streamlining the paperwork process.

IMMIGRATION AND MEXICO: This one is pretty simple. What we are currently doing to deal with illegal immigration of Mexicans into the US is destined to fail and it is an expensive band-aid. There is only one way to stop or reduce immigration from Mexico and that is to remove the reason for them to come here. We do not have such problems with Canada, nor do re really worry about it so much. The only way to solve this is to work with the Mexican government to solve their sociopolitical and socioeconomic problems as well as their drug and crime problem. With those things dealt with they will have no really large reason to come to the US in droves since their quality of life will be better. Either bring Mexico into the world as a First World Country or we will always have immigration problems with them.

JUDICIAL OVERSIGHT: There really needs to be some sort of judicial oversight or advisement on all legislation that is passed as the number of unconstitutional laws that get passed and lived destroyed because of this lack is unforgivable. There are too many unconstitutional laws that are put into effect and they should never had made it that far. Perhaps removing the ban on suing the government would be a start – not going to happen – but it would definitely make law makers think more about the laws that they make. There needs to be someway to prevent this craziness. Or Perhaps there can be a small department of the judicial branch in which all that they do is review new laws for legal issues and then publish an opinion for the public to see and for the lawmakers to take into consideration when writing their legalese. At least when the last shoe drops the law makers can be told “I told you so”.

MEASUREMENT REFORM: We have been kind of sitting on the border of moving to the metric system for a very long time. We are one of the few countries (US and Myanmar?) that are left still using the Imperial System of measurement. We have started it so let us finish it. The metric system is used in most other countries and changing to this will allow our products and research to be more easily understood and cheaper to export and import. This will also allow foreign workers and professionals to more easily work, in, and for the US as well as allowing our workers to work abroad, again reducing the barriers to international understanding and cooperation.

PATENTS are of a similar vein as my Research idea. If all patents were available to all they we could see more efficient and unified products with the most advancements in them such as solar cells that utilize technologies that they would currently have to pay for which stymies truly creative combinations and ideas. Instead of having 200 different solar products out there with 200 different advancements we could have maybe 5 or 10 products with many of the combined advancements which would result in a greatly efficient product much sooner than if the current model were followed. Perhaps have a flat public buyout fee that must be paid in order to bring the patent or copyright into the public domain. Businesses could make other arrangements in order to gain access to the Intellectual Property until a point is reached where they have received money to use the IP in excess to the buyout fee.

PRISONMATE REFORM: This may seem a little off-the-wall, well may not as some of my other recommendations, but teaching Yoga to inmates may give them a sense of serenity and be less prone to violence and/or repeat offenses, especially if they concentrate on some meditation. Reducing the violent tendencies would be great as well as to help make them more productive to society as a whole.

RESEARCH needs to be opened for the good of humanity. There are so many entities that are doing research – everyone from governments, private and public companies, as well as individuals many of which are recreating work done by other companies which amounts to wasted time for all. All research should be available to all who would like it so that we can more quickly bring technological advancements to pass. My favorite example is those that are researching solar power. If all of those entities that are working on this had access to all of the research on this, then a lot of time would be saved and many could work together on research making specific advancements come more quickly with much less wasted time and money. Researchers that had the same idea could work together on it as well as split up the testing bringing results to term sooner and more efficiently.

SCHOOLS: Somethings that should be taught in school that will greatly help the next generations is Evolutionary Psychology, Evolutionary Biology, Comparative Religion, Relationships (Men are from Mars…) and Non-Violent Communication, Investing and Money Management (Cashflow/Rich Dad Poor Dad). Evolutionary sciences can give great insight as to why we are and why we do the things that we do. Comparative religion classes will help to diffuse tensions between disparate religions as well as build in a sort of tolerance or acceptance for other religious or aspiritual paths. Part of getting this accepted by religious conservatives or fundamentalists is to also teach Evolutionary Creationism. We also need to concentrate and accept that students really do learn differently. We need more teachers that acknowledge this and to be trained to see this, in addition to being able to create tailored curriculum for our students to learn a given subject in their own way.

TIME REFORM: This first part will not be as radical as my calendar reform suggestion. We should adopt the 24 hour clock as the standard as much of the rest of the world has. Since having been in the military I have found the 12 hour clock to be annoying and ambiguous. The 24 clock relieves us of ambiguity and simplifies planning and relieves us of some worrying. The last part of the my time reform recommendation is to adopt something similar to what Swatch recommended in 1980’s – what they called Internet time which was a decimal time system that did not change ever, not even for day light savings times. This would have to be modified from Biel Mean Time to Greenwhich Mean Time as all of our time standards are based off of. This can form the basis for all international time sharing and planning. Instead of figuring out what the time difference is they just can say we will meet at @300 and they will both know what time it is locally and they can plan from there. This can also form the root for time keeping in space since it will not be terra-centric. When combined with Esperanto and the International Fixed Calendar we have the makings of a method of communicating with the world at large since the world grows smaller everyday and we are struggling to find ways to communicate, plan, and get things done across international, cultural, and times. You can read more about it in ‘Standardizing Time” If you have read this far then perhaps he last thing you should read is a small narrative I wrote that talks about more changes called “Class 2i“.

A Little November Catchup

Here’s a little catchup for the last month or so or our busy, ask busy lives.

Yoga Studio

As I have written about Tanya has been teaching Yoga in the old Baraboo News Republic building and that has been going well. We have not advertised this and a few of her classes have maxed out (6 people which is all we can fit in the room), case and that is great. It is a nice place and the owner is very amiable and helpful.

We had our first day where the Jiu-Jitsu classes were being taught. We have been waiting for this day, neurosurgeon and well, it wasn’t so bad, but I am pretty sure that we are going to have to find somewhere else to teach. =( Once this one month trial is over we will most likely look for a new place to teach.

Roof

We have known that we have need to replace the roof since we bought the house and now we are doing it. Hopefully, the roofers will be here this week to get it done. This will pretty much tap us out of our savings, but at least that will be fixed. Annoying, but necessary.

Early Thanksgiving

My sister’s kids were down from Thursday to Sunday to spend time with my parents and us. That was a lot of fun. I beat Tyler and Dad in racquetball, as well as tennis (2 on 1). We played cards and watched movies. It was a good time.

My Birthday

My birthday was quiet. I spent it with Tanya and my parents. We went to church, ate my mother’s deep fried chicken (which I love), and we saw the movies ‘Madagascar 2’ and ‘Quantum of Solace’. IT was a good day.

Tanya bought for me a Garmin GPS. I almost cried. It was electronic. It has buttons. Yea, I love buttons…. and most of all it may keep us from getting lost. I had thought about picking one up especially since I have become a Realtor. My sense of direction is horrible and this is rather ironic since I am in real estate. How on earth would I ever find the places or be on time. Well, now that is answered. Whew!

Yoga Studio Update

Obama GOOD!

McCain BAD!

If you care about civil rights here is another reason to “Vote for Obama“:

Ultra-conservative Puritanical Religionist Republicans of Dooooom!

Civil Rights has a history, allergy (especially under Bush politics) of suffering and being violated horribly under a Republican regime – I am talking to you Patriot Act, to which the ACLU has had to fight hard to try and fix. Who knows how many innocent people’s lives have been wrecked with these horrible laws in effect. Will these people whose rights have been violated ever be compensated for their governments enforcement of these broken laws? No. They will receive a “My bad!” and then be left tot recover from having their life destroyed by an illegal law.

The next president will most likely have the chance to nominate 2 or 3 Supreme Court Judges. The McCain camp is against Gay Rights which is very strongly a civil rights issue which he is against from a puritanical and ultra-conservative (save me some votes) standpoint. This way of thinking is one of the greatest problems with the Republical Party – Conservative Christian Religionism is their hidden mantra.

McCain will appoint judges that will enforce a close-minded backwards-traditional mindset and in an attempt to crush all of cultural progress out of fear, as well as crushing our civil rights in the process.

I have been working slavishly for the past few months on a business plan for a Yoga Studio that Tanya and I want to start in the Baraboo area. Writing a business plan has been a lot of work and a lot of research, purchase
and, wow, does my head hurt. =) The hardest part of writing it is the financial projections. A lot of problem with this step is attempting to pull realistic numbers out of my but. I have not found a place where good statistics can be found for student attendance projections for Yoga Studio start-ups. On the plus side we have finally decided on a name for the studio. Yea!

We have found the perfect building, now it is just a matter of getting the financing for it. We are trying to find a way to raise a +/- $20,000 and then we can start our dream.

We may have to lease first and then take the time to either raise the money to purchase the building or show that our studio can be quite successful so that the banks do not have to worry about repayment.

If there is anyone out there that is interested in helping us or investing in a Yoga Studio let us know.

Back Tightness Update…

So, disorder as I previously mentioned that my back was really not happy with me due to picking up racquetball, buy more about and I was in quite the pain all weekend. I went to my wonderful Chirpractor, pilule Dr. Witter, at Baraboo Chiropractic on Monday and he gave me a Yoga pose to do called ‘Cat and Cow‘.

Now I had heard of this pose before, and even performed it while I have, on occasion, practiced Yoga with my wife. The doc prescribed this for me and I have been performing it for about 30 seconds – twice a day since then. I played 3 sets of racquetball against my 15 year old and really athletic nephew and I did not have any problems. Wow! Thanks Doc! Thanks Yoga!
