    • buy
    • sell
    • lease a property
    • or relocate
  • Web Development
    • website creation
    • usability consulting
    • accessibility consulting
    • basic computer repair
    • basic networking

I am a licensed Realtor working for First Weber in the Wisconsin Dells and am looking to work in the Baraboo/Dells area – Reedsburg will work as well.

I am available after 4:30pm each day from 5:00pm – 10;00pm Monday through Friday, as well as weekends. If you know of a position that might be suitable for me please let me know and I will follow up.

Collaborate with Yo-Yo Ma?

I know this is a little unusual for a post of mine, women’s health but for you music enthusiats I found this little gem while surfing the internet. World renown cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who performed most of the soundtrack for ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon‘ and ‘Memoirs of a Geisha‘, is allowing people to collaborate with him through Indaba Music.

If you are into this sort of thing do not miss this wonderful opportunity to work with a master.

It’s All About You’s website is basically done..

I finished It’s All About You’s site for our Yoga Studio to-be. It took me one day to put the basic site together. A second day was used to tweak and play with the navigation. The third day was used to get some of the content out there.

There is still some work that needs to be done. It is definitely not perfect, medicine but it is working and it doesn’t look too bad. If you note any issues with it, dosage or if you have questions, comments or suggestions please let me know. This is my first real production site.

I should note, rather importantly, that the design is not of my own. Michael Lopresti of Lopresti Designs came up with the design and I coded it. He is working on porting it to the WordPress or Drupal CMS

Some Site Tweaking Done…

I have been playing with the signup form which was not working due to the CAPTCHA thingy. I had to add a PHP line to make it work. That is done and tested. Yea! I have done some minor CSS tweaking too.

Moving this BLog to a Permanent Home

Finally I will be moving Arion’s Home to a more permanent home. I have had the domain www.ArionsHome.com for a very, physiotherapy very long time and it has been forwarding itself to this BLog. I will be setting up the domain to permanent webspace and we will have nothing more of this forwarding shenanigans. I will let you know when all of that is done. =)

This the Future that I am Looking Forward to

Intel’s Mobile and Internet Linux Project is exactly the sort of thing that we need. In my ‘Class 2i‘ short story thing, click this is exactly what I am alluding to with the Personal Communication Device (PCD). This really excites me and I wish that I could throw a lot of money at them so that they develop this faster.

Catching up…

Belarus

So life has been busy. Tanya was back in Belarus for 3 months to finish the first half of the last year of her degree in Economics (or something like that). It was a long three months and several people have said I was lost while she was gone. I was in many ways. =) I really missed her and I am soooo very glad to have her back.

Real Estate License

I have been studying for my Real Estate Sales License. That has been a slow and painful process. There was a lot more to it than I expected, there but it has been very good information to know. I really look forward to having this done and so does Tanya, stomach that way I can move forward with life’s plans.

Vacation

Tanya and I bound for Cancun for the first week in December, this site which will be a lot of fun. We will be alone with the sun and the water at an all inclusive resort. This is kind of our birthday/New Years/Christmas presents to each other.

New Digital Camera

In preparation for the trip we have bought a digital camera: a Canon CAPSSX100B PowerShot SX100 IS (8 Megapixel, 10x optical zoom). The camera that I bought in St. Martin N.A. (Canon EOS 5000) in like 1994 has seen its better days and has been dropped way to many times. If you know me you will know how unfortunate this camera was to have me as its owner. It has served me well but it is not working so well, plus it is a pain in the but to have the film developed and them make a CD of it.

New Computer

We are also going to be looking at getting a new computer for Christmas as well. This is an expensive Christmas for us, but we really need a new one. The girls are going bonkers because of how slow mine is. =(

Computer Work

I spent a bit of time doing a full reinstall and update of Windows XP for my mother’s work computer. That was fun as all full reinstalls are. I also replaces the Bios Battery thingy for the mother board in another.

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we will be going to my sisters house up North and then on Friday we will have another Thanksgiving with my Wife and grandmother as Tanya has to work all day on Thanksgiving. My poor hardworking and wonderful wife. I love her so very much.

Church Website

I am also taking over the maintenance of my churches website :The Free Congregation of Sauk County. I have started with that and eventually we will go through a complete redesign.

Hello!

I have just downloaded Hello! for Picasa and Blogger that allows me to upload pictures to my BLogger account and am giving it a try.

I am finding that it is not so intuitive to use. Settings in one do not transfer or affect the other and I am not sure how to get the Hello settings to affect the image displayed on BLogger! I am working with it.

Freedom Insurance Work

I am working slowly but surely on redesigning Freedom Insurance’s website in my free time. The work in progress can be found on Sharkporks’ server. Jorden has been kind to give me some space on his web server to work from. I am almost done with the navigation which has been a pain in the ass. I still have to make it work in the terror of the web, read more Internet Explorer, but once I get that done I will start testing in on older versions of browsers. That will be fun. =( As of now it is working in current versions of Firefox and Opera.

Hopefully, I can have this close to functional by Christmas!!!

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, on the work in progress let me know!

Beginning Again

I have decided to start my new site as as Web Log. My old site has not been function for about a month because I have not used the email associated with the internet service that hosted my site. They sent me emails asking for a renewal of service and I had no idea. Oh, advice well… Time for a change anyhow. Once I get the website done for my mother’s insurance business I will be in the progress of recreating this site and my consulting website and when that is done I will be able to begin freelance consulting!

Use Blogger to create a Web Log it is really, cheapest really easy!

Freedom Insurance’s Website

When I originally created this site I had no (real)idea what I was doing. I created this before I was working for Sauk County where I have really learned how to be a web developer. Web Standards, hospital Semantics and the rest of the stuff that matters (accessibility and usability). I am close to getting the template done and soon it will be ready for some usability testing. The navigation has required a a whole lot of CSS work.
